Stargate Universe

This is some of the stuff I did at Image Engine last year. It was my first time doing cameras and hard surfaces. I only worked on 2 episodes, "Darkness" and "Light", but it was fun.

And I know it's very dark. Destiny is usually brighter but they were having some power problems on those episodes. A higher quality QuickTime file can be downloaded here.

Here's something I wanted to try for a while. I've always liked painting and this is my first complete attempt at digital art, though I would hate to call it final.

The concept is a little silly. My idea was that this tiny alien on a glass dome came to visit our planet and this would be one of his last pictures of the trip. He got acquainted with a lot of human culture and even got both his antenna and tongue pierced. Anyway, I'd appreciate some feedback.

11 Second Club - August 09

video

Here's my WIP for the 11 Second Club August competition. I was thinking of doing an acting bit and I liked the audio, so why not?

This is a render test.

Running from the cops

video

This is a little personal project I've been working for the past 2-3 days. I wanted to do a little action sequence with some room for acting. It's not finished yet and I'm planning a couple of extra shots. Not sure about the fate of the character, though. I think he might not make it through the end.

Update: I've altered the animation a bit, so I decided to post the updated version.

Updated Resume

After a very productive 3-month contract with Image Engine, I'm already looking for my next project. I thought this might be a good time to update my resume, so here it is.

My MEL Scripts

I've been doing a few MEL scripts every now and then and I decided to make a video about these tools. Some are very simple and others are a little more complicated, but they were all made to help me animate easier and faster. My favorite ones are the Interactive Motion Trail tool (which is built upon Cameron Fielding's original Motion Trail script) and the Mirror Pose tool (works great on walk cycles).

To see it a little more clearly download the Quick Time file here.
The scripts can be found here. Read the scripts for information on how to use them properly.
Please do not distribute those. They are intended for private use only and at your own risk. Some scripts have to be sourced, then ran from the MEL command line. I also added the icons I use on my shelf buttons.

Cheers

Old Radio

This is an animation I just did. It's for Jovem Pan, a Brazilian radio station. Timing was fun to play with and the rig was pretty cool to manage. Anyway, here's the clip:
